MaSon

M.Kumaran s/o Mahalakshmi

This is a pleasant movie to watch. The eager expectation for me was to see Nadiya back after such a long time. The last time I remember seeing her on screen was in 'Raajakumaaran', where she got sidelined by a younger and buxom, Meena. Nadiya did not disappoint her fans.

The first half of the movie was a Mother-Son tale. But unlike other tamil movies, the mother here was not really the standard "Boodi Maa" that you see on the silver screen. She is a college professor, who is not only modern, but also practical. There were a few touching dialogs that I am sure, will go well with any audience (e.g. The one abt Goddess Saraswathi being the woman everyone looks up to as a symbol of education without worrying about her husband, Lord Bramha). Nadiya has played her role to perfection and has emoted gently yet, powerfully. This role was well carved out for her and she has staged a wonderful comeback, albeit in an older generation role. She has kept her fitness at amazing levels that will put even Hema Malini to shame!

The second half of the movie was interesting and reminds you a lot of Jo Jeetha Wohi Sikandar and its remake, Badri. Of course the actor, 'Jeyam' Ravi cannot compare to Aamir or Vijay, but he has done his bit.
